What’s in the Box
EF-530 DG ST flash for Sony cameras, soft case, hot shoe table stand, user’s manual.

I bought this flash mainly to take sports actions shots at night football games. Simply put, the flash controls are limited, the flash has a VERY SLOW recycle time and after doing about 30 test shots, the flash didnt work. It would fire only every 1 out of 8 shots I took. I end up returning it to Amazon. I had no problem returning it and getting a refund. I end up buy the Sony Alpha flash at $299. More expensive, but it works great and does what I want.

The title should say it all. I was quite disappointed. When I received my package a few weeks ago, I couldn’t wait to try the Sigma flash out. Within minutes I knew the quality just wasnt’ there. First I thought my setting were off, rechecked my Canon Rebel & they were right on target. All the shot I had taken were so under developed I knew this flash were going back. I was totally dissatisfied with this flash. I ended up spending a little more money & getting the Canon 580 which I should of purchased from the get go.

I bought this flash, admittedly by mistake. I meant to get the “super” version but I didn’t look close enough at the product label. This flash when used on the Nikon D80 really is sub-par. It only actually flashes 80% of the time with the rest just simply going unlit. For the first few uses after being turned on it exposes correctly and then ever shot after that get progressively more exposure until the frame is nearly completely saturated white. It will not fast sync over 1/640 shutter. I wanted a large output flash for outdoor fill, but with such a low sync it is not even good for that.
It is very cheaply made and have really no useful features other than it gives of a HUGE amount of light (when it flashes and typically when it is not needed)
I do not recommend getting this product and I will be returning it as soon as I can get reach of 47st photo. (I hate getting shipments on Fridays just for this reason).
I am not going to try to “super” version. It is too much more money to trust it will work correctly. When the Nikon SB-600 flash is the same price even if it does have a lower GN.

Good product, very powerful flash. Sometimes you end up having a underexposed pic but not very often.

This flash is not a good fit for canon digital cameras. The canon digital line uses e-ttl (evaluative through the lens metering). This flash only works correctly with standard ttl such as nikon. It is very similar to the flash I have for my 35 mm canon. It works ok for the older film models but not with the newer digital.
